LiteGait mobility device recently purchased at Bryn Mawr Hospital with your generous support

Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation
LiteGait

Bryn Mawr Hospital recently purchased the LiteGait mobility device through the generous support of our donors. Read below what Johanna McNally, Nurse Manager in the intensive care and step-down units, has to say:

"We are excited and grateful to be purchasing the LiteGait mobility device which is 100% funded by charitable support. This device will bring additional rehabilitation principles to the care of certain inpatient populations that previously were not eligible for gait therapy due to the severity or complexity of their condition, including the Intensive Care and Step-Down Units. This device brings patients to an upright posture and offloads specific body weight to assist them with pre-ambulation as part of the therapy regimen. It consists of a supportive harness attached to an overhead frame, which partially supports the patient's weight while allowing freedom of movement. LiteGait will allow for earlier mobility to be initiated sooner which can reduce complications, reduce length of stay and optimize outcomes for patients. We greatly appreciate our generous donors who made this purchase possible, and we know our patients will, as well! Thank you!"
