Psychiatry - System Vice Chair Employment Opportunities
Position summary
Main Line HealthCare (MLHC) is seeking a System Vice Chair for the Department of Psychiatry. This senior leadership position, in partnership with the Chair, provides strategic direction and coordination of administrative, clinical, educational, and research activities for employed and aligned psychiatrists and advanced practice providers. The Vice Chair will also enhance collaboration with the System’s academic affiliates.
Leadership responsibilities

Strategy, recruitment and retention responsibilities
- Participate in strategic planning to achieve MLH goals for psychiatric and mental health care
- Evaluate and enhance clinical services and programs within the Department
- Strengthen collaboration with Thomas Jefferson University and other academic partners
- Coordinate program components to deliver integrated patient-centered care across all MLH hospitals
- Foster collaborative interactions between clinical departments for integrated care strategies
- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of new MLHC clinicians
Administrative responsibilities
- Develop and monitor clinical quality, safety, and equity metrics, setting performance expectations and holding members accountable
- Support patient care activities and ensure quality healthcare provision
- Partner with the VP for Behavioral Health on the effective management of mental health services
- Meet monthly with service line medical directors and Advanced Practice Provider leadership
- Oversee peer review and risk mitigation processes, ensuring consistency and equity
- Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory standards
- Address clinical and operational concerns with MLHC leadership
- Work with Behavioral Health administrators and MLH Marketing on communication and marketing plans
- Represent the psychiatric service line at community events and forums
- Oversee quality improvement efforts related to clinical outcomes and evidence-based guidelines
- Develop, evaluate, and administer graduate medical education and continuing medical education within the Department

Qualifications
- Possess an MD/DO degree and be a credentialed member of the Active MLH Medical Staff
- Completed an ACGME accredited residency in psychiatry and board certified
- Eligible for an unrestricted medical license in Pennsylvania
Work effort
- Devote 20 hours per week to administrative duties and practice a minimum of 25 hours clinically
- Travel between MLH entities is required
