System Director of Structural Echo Physician Employment Opportunities
Position overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Structural Echo to lead our Structural Echocardiography program. This leadership role is integral to our continued excellence in cardiac imaging, providing high-quality patient care, and supporting our ongoing regional/national leadership in cardiovascular health. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the Structural Echo program, including clinical operations, research initiatives, and education.
This role will be uniquely central to the Structural Heart program activities. All referred Structural patients will initially have a clinical and imaging evaluation by the Director of Structural Echo along with a team of Advanced Practice Providers who would then direct their subsequent visits for imaging, physician and research considerations and ultimately participate in the Heart Team final recommendations for treatment.

Key responsibilities
- Leadership & management:
- Oversee the Structural Echocardiography team, including physicians, fellows, sonographers, and support staff
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the quality and efficiency of the Structural Echo program
- Collaborate with the System Chiefs of both the Cardiovascular Division and Cardiovascular Surgery to align the program with the organization's overall goals
- Foster a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement
- Clinical oversight:
- Direct and perform advanced structural echocardiographic procedures, including transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) for structural heart interventions
- Ensure high-quality imaging and interpretation, supporting optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of advancements in structural heart disease and echocardiography techniques
- Collaborate with interventional cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons to plan and execute complex structural heart interventions
- Research & innovation:
- Lead and participate in clinical research initiatives related to structural echocardiography
- Stay current with emerging technologies and techniques in the field, and integrate them into clinical practice
- Contribute to publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Education & training:
- Provide mentorship and training to fellows, residents, and other healthcare professionals in structural echocardiography
- Develop and implement educational programs to enhance the skills of the echocardiography team
- Participate in the development of protocols and guidelines for structural echo procedures
- Quality & compliance:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and best practices
- Implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency
- Oversee the accreditation process for the Structural Echo program
Qualifications
- Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Certification: Board-certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Level III Echocardiography
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural echocardiography in an accredited lab
- Proven leadership experience in a clinical setting
- Skills:
- Expertise in advanced echocardiographic techniques, including TEE for structural heart interventions
- Strong clinical and patient management skills
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
