Substance Use Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Intensive Outpatient Programs for substance use diagnoses
Mirmont Outpatient Centers provide IOPs for individuals 14 years and older who are struggling with substance use. These levels of care are composed of the following features:
- Group therapy
- Relapse prevention strategies
- Medication assisted treatment (MAT)
- Introduction to support groups
- Psychiatric care as needed
In a supportive environment that includes individualized treatment planning, our specialists help patients develop skills, attitudes and behaviors for living a healthy, sober life. During group therapy, patients meet and connect with others who are experiencing similar problems with addiction. Sharing stories, ideas and support through group therapy can make a big difference in helping achieve goals.
The IOPs are available for people seeking initial treatment, as well as those who have already completed the inpatient drug and alcohol rehab program and are looking for the next level of care.
We also serve people who have had a DUI conviction, have been dually diagnosed or have . Through our Family Support Services we provide additional resources, guidance and support to family and loved ones of intensive outpatient program members.
Adolescent Intensive Outpatient Program for substance use support
Mirmont Outpatient Centers in Broomall and Exton offer group therapy programs for adolescents ages 14 through 17 who are struggling with a substance use diagnosis. These programs provide the structure and frequency found in inpatient programs, but do not require 24-hour inpatient care. As part of the program, our treatment team collaborates with adolescents’ families and schools to coordinate care and best ensure success in the home environment.
Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) are designed for those in need of more support than once-weekly therapy. Multiple weekly sessions of support groups are held after school hours.
Through the IOP we offer adolescents:
- Psychoeducation of coping skills effective for adolescents
- Mindfulness techniques that are incorporated into daily coping skill practices
- Relapse prevention and trigger identification
- Focus on healthy relationships and boundary-setting at home, at school and with friends
If your child or student is struggling with mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, self-harm, adjustment issues and/or are using substances or experiencing consequences because of substance use, we have group-supported programs to help.
