About Belonging, Equity and Community

At Main Line Health, our focus is on people, patients and the populations we serve. Through a continuous focus on belonging, inclusion, respect, equity and community, we create environments where individuals feel valued and connected, driving meaningful impact for our people, patients and communities.

This work strengthens our workforce, enhances patient experience and improves patient outcomes. Main Line Health is committed to advancing the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve. We do this by building trust and identifying and eliminating disparities in care.

We work hard every day to be the best place to give and receive care, while serving our community through our mission, vision and values. Some of our most important values and core work that drive us every day include:

  • Safety
  • Quality
  • Diversity
  • Respect
  • Health equity

The Power of Collaboration

Creating a culture of respect requires mutual participation from every one of us, every day. Through collaborative work, partnerships and interprofessional teams, Main Line Health positively impacts our community.

The following programs demonstrate that through interprofessional collaboration and partnership, small groups can have an immediate and sustainable impact on their communities:

  • The American Hospital Association's #123 for Equity Pledge
  • System-wide diversity education
  • Pursuing Equity Initiative of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI)
  • Annual Healthcare Disparities Colloquium
  • Patient-centered Medical Student Advocate (MSA) program

Health equity

Every year, Main Line Health hosts its Annual Disparities in Care Colloquium to focus on work done within the system to identify potential disparities of care and to eliminate them. The Colloquium features speakers within Main Line Health and community partners, who are focused on advancing equity internally with our patients and employees in addition to externally with the communities we serve.
