Facial surgery (including rhinoplasty)
Facelift
A facelift can bring renewed self-confidence if you are struggling with the signs of aging on your face or neck. Facelift procedures involve removing extra skin, resuspending sagging fat, and tightening the neck muscles to create a more youthful appearance.
What to expect: Patients typically go under general anesthesia for the procedure. After you're asleep and safely monitored by an anesthesiologist, we remove extra skin and fat to lift the face, resuspend the deep tissues and tighten the neck muscles. After surgery, you'll wake up in a large head wrap. A follow-up appointment will be scheduled for the next day to check your progress and answer any questions.
Midface lift
As you age, fat pads in the cheeks begin to deteriorate and sag. A midface lift, also known as a cheek lift, restores fullness in the cheeks and corrects hollows and dark circles under the eyes to restore a refreshed, more youthful look. Recovery from a midface lift is faster than a traditional facelift and is more permanent than fillers and injectables.
Chin implant
The chin and jawline can contribute to a strong and harmonized face for men and women. A custom-fit chin implant made from a safe, pliable material can help to create a more defined or prominent contour of the chin to improve your appearance.
What to expect: Chin implant surgery is usually an outpatient procedure, so you can expect to go home the same day. It is performed using general anesthesia or local anesthesia with sedation. A small incision is made either under the chin or inside the mouth, and the implant is placed around the chin bone. You may feel some tenderness after surgery, and you will probably need to follow a soft diet for a few days to avoid chewing. You will need to sleep face-up, with your head elevated, for a week or two to minimize swelling. Most people experience little downtime and are back to regular activities in about a week. You can expect to see results as the swelling subsides. Follow-up appointments will be scheduled at one week to remove sutures and check on your progress.
Nose surgery (rhinoplasty)
Rhinoplasty, often referred to as a "nose job," involves surgical reshaping of the nose to improve facial harmony. This is primarily a cosmetic procedure to alter the appearance of the nose, such as to change the size or angle, make the nose more symmetrical, or to fix the nose after an injury. For people with a deviated septum (the inside middle part of the nose), rhinoplasty can be performed to improve breathing.
What to expect: Rhinoplasty requires either local or general anesthesia. The procedure may be "closed," in which the incisions are done inside the nose, or "open" in which the incisions are done across the strip of tissue at the bottom of the nose that separates the nostrils. A large nose may require removal of bone and cartilage to minimize the appearance of the nose. A deviated septum requires straightening to improve breathing. After surgery, your surgeon will use splints to hold the nose in place while it heals. You can expect the area around the eyes and nose to be puffy, bruised and swollen for a few days to a few weeks.
Eyelid and eyebrow surgery
Browlift
Wrinkles and sags that develop above the eyes can mistakenly convey feelings of anger, fatigue or unhappiness. A browlift, also known as a forehead lift, can reduce horizontal lines on the forehead, the bridge of the nose and between the eyes, improve frown lines and correct low or sagging brows to restore a more refreshed appearance.
What to expect: Browlift surgery is an outpatient procedure, so you can expect to go home the same day. It is performed using general anesthesia or intravenous sedation. Patients typically experience very little pain after a brow lift, but it is common to feel slight discomfort as well as a sensation of tightness throughout the forehead. You will probably have some swelling and bruising for one to two weeks after the surgery. As you heal and the swelling dissipates, your smoother and more youthful-looking forehead will emerge. A follow-up appointment will take place one week after the procedure to remove the sutures and check on your progress.
Eyelid lift (blepharoplasty)
Are you tired of looking tired? If you're self-conscious about loose, saggy or puffy skin around your eyes, cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, also called an eyelid lift, can help you look more refreshed and youthful.
What to expect: Depending on your preferences, you will receive either local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia for your surgery. After you're comfortable, we will remove extra skin and fat from your eyelids. Sometimes, we can combine lower eyelid lifts with a skin peel to help tighten the surrounding skin. After your procedure, cool compresses will be placed on your eyes to minimize swelling and discomfort. You can expect to go home the same day as your surgery. Follow-up appointments will take place one week and one month after your procedure to make sure your recovery is progressing well and you are happy with the results.
Ear surgery
Ear plastic surgery (otoplasty)
Protruding ears can bother people at any age. With ear plastic surgery, also referred to as otoplasty, we can help adults and children by reducing the degree to which protruding ears stand out from your head. Through virtually undetectable incisions behind the ear, we recreate folds in the ear to make them look smaller, and we're able to set back the ear and earlobe.
Earlobe repair
Earlobes that have torn or become stretched out over time can be repaired under local anesthesia in the office. We refresh the skin and place two layers of sutures. The sutures are trimmed in one week, and you can get pierced again in one month, as long as it's not in the scar line.
Fillers and injectables
Fillers and injectables for fast-acting facial rejuvenation
Facial injectables, dermal fillers and facial fillers combat wrinkles and other signs of aging. The safe, effective techniques used to administer these medications are nonsurgical and minimally invasive.
With only minor bruising, they require little or no downtime, and with most of these medications, you'll see immediate results. Injectables and fillers can be used to treat frown lines, horizontal forehead creases, crow's feet, lip lines, chin dimpling and overactive neck muscles.
What to expect
BOTOX® — BOTOX injections typically take only a few minutes and do not require anesthesia. It can take up to seven days before you see the full benefits and results last approximately three to six months. BOTOX can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, especially around the eyes and on the forehead. Effects become more substantial over time as the process is repeated.
Dysport® — Dysport is similar to BOTOX in its purpose and delivery. Both are derived from botulinum toxin type A proteins and last approximately three to six months. Dysport has the advantage of a quicker onset time.
JUVÉDERM® XC & JUVÉDERM® Ultra XC — A popular hyaluronic acid filler, JUVÉDERM is injected in the nasolabial folds (the parentheses around your mouth) and lips to instantly restore your skin's volume. It can also help the appearance of mild to moderate lines in the chin, marionette lines (creases below the mouth, around the chin), jowls and jawline. It provides a smooth, natural look and can last six months or longer.
JUVÉDERM® VOLUMA™ XC — VOLUMA is also a hyaluronic acid filler. It can be used to contour and volumize the malar region to create the appearance of higher cheekbones. Results with VOLUMA may last up to two years.
JUVÉDERM® VOLBELLA™ XC — A newer product in the JUVÉDERM line of hyaluronic acid fillers, VOLBELLA is the ideal product for fine lines around the mouth and subtle enhancement of the lips. Results are expected to last six months or longer.
Breast enhancement
Breast lift and mastopexy
Restoring a youthful appearance to breasts, a mastopexy or "breast lift," reduces sagging and can correct other aesthetic breast issues without significantly changing the cup size of your breasts.
If you maintain a stable weight and your sagging breasts trouble you, you might consider a breast lift. Breast lifts can also help if your areolas are enlarged, you have breast asymmetry, or your nipples point downward.
What to expect: Mastopexy is outpatient surgery so you can expect to go home the same day. Follow-up appointments will take place one week, one month and six months after the procedure to make sure your recovery is progressing well and you are happy with the results.
Breast augmentation
Breast augmentation can help you feel more confident if you're unhappy with the size of your breasts in general, or after pregnancy or weight loss, and as you age. It can also help when your breasts are of different sizes and you want them to be more symmetrical. We will discuss implant options, different incision locations to minimize permanent visible scarring, and the size that will best deliver the results you want.
What to expect: Breast augmentation is outpatient surgery so you can expect to go home the same day. We will call you that evening to check on you and answer any questions. Follow-up appointments will take place one week, one month and one year after the procedure to make sure your recovery is progressing well and you are happy with the results.
Breast reduction
Breast reduction surgery can help if you feel your breasts are too large for your frame, or if you experience back, neck or shoulder pain, or rashes underneath your breasts. Breast reduction can be performed during adolescence or any time after. With breast reduction, we remove extra breast fat, glandular tissue and skin to reduce the size of the breast and lift the breast up at the same time.
What to expect: Breast reduction is outpatient surgery, so you can expect to go home the same day. In this type of procedure, drains are typically NOT used. Follow-up appointments will take place two weeks, one month and six months after the procedure to make sure your recovery is progressing well and you are happy with the results.
Body reshaping
SculpSure® fat reduction
If you have fat that is tough to burn no matter how much you diet and exercise, genetics may be overriding your arduous attempts to lose stubborn fat. SculpSure's light-based body-contouring system treats areas of stubborn fat to help you achieve the shape you want in just 25 minutes, with zero downtime.
What to expect: We can usually offer same-day SculpSure consultation and treatment. During the treatment, you will only feel a warm heating sensation due to the fat being destroyed. You may feel a little sensitivity in the area after the procedure, but you will leave the office with no restrictions. Over the next several weeks fat cells "melt away" and the contour of your body improves. A follow-up appointment will take place six to 12 weeks after the treatment to check on your progress.
SmartLipo® and laser lipo
Liposuction is a minimally invasive technique where fat is removed using a tube and cannula. Adding laser treatment to liposuction may reduce pain, bruising and swelling, resulting in a faster recovery. Laser lipo adds skin tightening over time, with the maximum effect at three months. While the abdomen and love handles are the most common areas treated, thighs, arms, back, hips, chest and legs can also be treated.
Smartlipo Triplex® can help reshape your look by removing fat with minimal downtime and less pain than traditional liposuction. Smartlipo delivers energy underneath the skin, "melting" fat and tightening skin to achieve the shape you desire. What to expect: During this procedure you are awake but typically relaxed with an oral medication. You will not be able to drive home if you take the oral medication. Another option is to have laser liposuction performed under local anesthesia, allowing you to drive. If you choose this method, you may experience some occasional poking and pinching.
After the procedure you will wear a foam dressing for about a week, followed by a compression garment for about six weeks. The final result can take six months to a year, but you will see an immediate difference.
Mommy makeover
The mommy makeover targets three areas many women would like to enhance after having a baby. A typical mommy makeover includes:
- Breast lift
- Tummy tuck
- Other breast fixes, abdominal improvements and facial treatments
The procedures are safely done at the same time so you have just one recovery period (and lower cost), getting you back to your usual activities more quickly.
Thigh enhancement
The thighs can be a problem area, usually because you would like to reduce their size or you've lost a lot of weight and have excess skin. We have a variety of techniques to improve the look of your thighs, from noninvasive fat reduction through SculpSure to a surgical thigh lift.
A thigh lift is usually performed through an incision in the groin line where skin and fat are removed to lift up the thigh. After massive weight loss, more skin may need to be removed which will involve an incision down the leg. If the problem area is smaller, laser liposuction can be performed to remove fat and tighten the skin through small liposuction incisions. Laser lipo and SculpSure are performed safely while you are awake in the office. A thigh lift is a surgical procedure requiring general anesthesia.
Tummy tuck (abdominoplasty)
Tummy tuck
If you're troubled by extra skin and fat around your abdomen, a tummy tuck could be a good solution for you. With a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, we remove extra skin and fat, and tighten the muscles in the abdomen to improve your waistline. Liposuction is also used to remove the fat in love handles.
What to expect: The incisions for this surgery will be around the belly button and at your waistline. We make these incisions with the utmost precision to minimize visible scarring. Skin and fat will first be removed from below your belly button, then fat will be removed from above your belly button. We will then take off more fat where your new belly button will be, while tightening your rectus muscles. Finally, we'll close the incisions in three layers and perform liposuction.
When you awaken from the procedure, you’ll be in an abdominal binder to support your abdominal area after surgery. You can expect to go home the same day after having a tummy tuck. We will call you that evening to make sure you're doing well and to answer any questions. Follow-up appointments will take place one week after the procedure to remove the drains, then one month after the procedure to make sure your recovery is progressing well.
Mini tummy tuck
A mini tummy tuck may be an option if you are not ready for a full tummy tuck, which includes relocating the belly button through an incision. A mini tummy tuck focuses on the lower abdomen, especially the hanging skin near a C-section scar. We tighten the skin, remove extra fat and tighten the abdominal wall on the inside.

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
Many people think of plastic surgery as purely cosmetic, but there’s a lot more to this surgical specialty. Plastic surgeons often do reconstructive procedures that can rebuild body parts after an injury or illness.
