Important information for our patients who hold Cigna commercial insurance coverage
Main Line Health has been in negotiations with Cigna for its commercial products since June 2024. Unless new terms are reached, our contracts with Cigna for these products will expire effective February 15, 2025. Affected would be the following Main Line Health entities:
All acute hospitals and all outpatient locations
- Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital
- Ambulatory Surgery Centers
- Main Line Healthcare Physicians
- Main Line HomeCare and Hospice
- Main Line Imaging
- Main Line Urgent Care locations
We are in active negotiations with Cigna and are hopeful that the parties can reach agreement by the expiration date. There is no need to cancel appointments, procedures or surgeries with Main Line Health at this time. Regulatory agencies require that health plans notify any potentially impacted member at least 30 days prior to the termination date. You may be receiving letters from Cigna notifying you of this situation.
Impact on our Cigna commercial patients:
- If we are unable to reach amicable terms, you may pay more for services at our locations effective February 16, 2025, when using your out-of-network benefits.
- In no event would we refuse to treat any patient experiencing an emergency. Cigna members will always be able to access our emergency rooms at the in-network level of benefits regardless of our contract status.
- For any continuity of care questions, please call the Cigna Member Services phone number on the back of your ID card.
Main Line Health values our relationship and wants to continue to be a trusted partner in your healthcare. We look forward to serving your future medical needs.
