We know that a cancer diagnosis is lifechanging. At Main Line Health, your care team is here to address your emotional and spiritual needs as well as your medical needs. We can assist you with personal concerns related to your care and its effect on your loved ones, relationships, finances, employment and self-image.

You are not alone. Our oncology social workers are here to answer your questions, provide compassionate support and offer tools and guidance to help you through each step of your cancer journey.

We can help you:

  • Cope with your diagnosis and the emotions you may be experiencing
  • Think through decisions about treatment options as you consider your loved ones, your work and other priorities in life
  • Understand insurance coverage options
  • Apply for financial assistance

  • Counseling for you and your loved ones
  • Support groups and educational programs
  • Referrals to community programs and home supportive services

We can teach you:

  • How to talk with your children, loved ones, friends and coworkers
  • Relaxation and stress-reduction techniques
  • How cancer affects sex, intimacy, fertility and body image
  • Integrative therapies including massage, yoga, Reiki and meditation
  • How to plan for your care with the use of an advance directive

  • Affordable medical care and prescription drug coverage
  • Transportation to and from medical care (if available)
  • Home health, palliative and hospice care
