Joseph M. Gobern, MD, MBA, FACOG

Dr. Gobern is health system Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology and board-certified OB/GYN with a focused practice of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. He earned his MD at the Uniformed Services University and completed his OB/GYN residency at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX and specialty training in minimally invasive and robotic surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. Gobern's areas of expertise include: Complex gynecology care, robotic-assisted surgery including the diagnosis and treatment of uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding, pelvic pain, endometriosis, and non-cancerous tumors. Dr. Gobern, a retired US Army Colonel, and his wife of over 30 years have four adult children, and enjoy family time and international travel.
