Lankenau Medical Center receives award for improvement in care of high-risk infants
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team at Lankenau Medical Center, part of Main Line Health, has earned the 2024 Vermont Oxford Network Award for Excellence in Quality Improvement. The award recognizes hospitals that demonstrate dedication to multidisciplinary, structured quality improvement in the care of infants and families. Lankenau Medical Center earned the award for its work to reduce rates of severe intraventricular hemorrhage and improve time to skin-to-skin care.
Main Line Health VP elected Governor-Elect of the Southeastern Pa. Chapter of the American College of Physicians
William Surkis, MD, was elected Governor-Elect of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP). Dr. Surkis, Vice President for Medical Education, Main Line Health, and Vice President for Medical Affairs, Lankenau Medical Center, will advocate for internal medicine physicians and help sustain the ACP's history of being a trusted source of education and science-based medical fact. His term will begin in April 2026.
Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society Recognizes David Rubenstein, MD for his contributions to sports medicine
David Rubenstein, MD, was awarded the 2024 Dr. Cordas Honorary Team Physician Membership Award from the Pennsylvania Athletic Trainers’ Society. The award recognizes contributions in providing quality healthcare i the field of sports medicine.
Main Line Health Receives Level 1 Participant as an Age Friendly Health System
Main Line Health recently received a Level I participant recognition from the Institute for Hospital Improvement (IHO) as an Age Friendly Health System. The AFHS initiative is a CMS driven initiative that partners with the American Hospital Association to ensure seniors are receiving Age Friendly Care. Its focus is on four elements known as the 4Ms: What Matters, Medication, Mentation, & Mobility. A group of five multidisciplinary units across the System are working on achieving the next level of recognition, a Level 2 participant. Learn more about the initiative here.
