Main Line Health provides a full range of diagnostic imaging and radiology services including mammography, X-ray, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT) scans, ultrasound services, nuclear medicine, DEXA scan and more – at several convenient locations throughout the Philadelphia suburbs.
Interventional Radiology is an area of medicine which combines diagnostic imaging with minimally invasive procedures. Interventional radiologists are involved in the treatment of the patient, as well as the diagnosis of disease.
Nuclear medicine is a radiology sub-specialty encompassing a number of studies in which a small dose of radioactive material is administered to a patient, allowed to disperse through the body, and then imaged with a special camera that detects the radiation emitted from the body. These types of studies produce images of body anatomy and function that cannot be obtained by other methods.
