Bryn Mawr, PAMain Line Health's four acute care hospitals and rehabilitative medicine facility are receiving statewide recognition for their efforts to support and raise awareness about organ, eye and tissue donation.

Three acute care hospitals — Lankenau Medical Center, Bryn Mawr Hospital and Paoli Hospital — were honored with a titanium designation, the highest awarded by The Hospital and Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania’s (HAP) 2024 Donate Life Pennsylvania Hospital Challenge. Riddle Hospital received a platinum designation and Bryn Mawr Rehab received a gold designation.

The annual campaign encourages Pennsylvania hospitals to increase organ, eye and tissue donation awareness within their hospitals and communities. HAP partnered with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the two organ procurement organizations serving Pennsylvania — the Center for Organ Recovery & Education and Gift of Life Donor Program — to support the challenge.

“Organ donation is all about saving lives, and I’m proud of our hospitals for being recognized for their devotion to this critical lifesaving work,” said Jack Lynch, FACHE, President and CEO, Main Line Health. “It’s vitally important to spread the word about the importance of organ, eye and tissue donation. Our team members work closely with Gift of Life staff and grieving family members to help facilitate donations that give desperately ill patients a new lease on life.”

There were 118 hospitals statewide that participated in this year’s challenge.

HAP President and CEO Nicole Stallings said, “HAP commends Pennsylvania hospitals and our partners for their terrific work to support and raise awareness about organ donation. The level of participation in the challenge demonstrates the commitment and dedication hospital teams have for the health of their communities. Increasing the number of organ, eye and tissue donors is critical to helping hospital teams save and improve lives.”
